Cupcake pops

I made cake balls last year and posted about them here.

The inspiration for them came from Bakerella. I'd been meaning to have another go so this time I tried cupcake pops.

Again I was limited by the availability of some ingredients which we can't get here but I thought they turned out quite cute.

I said it before and I'll say it again. A cake on a stick is much more appealing to a child than the same thing not on a stick!

They can be quite time consuming. I don't know if I'll be able to have them in the shop every day. They might have to go on the available for special order list!

STOP PRESS: Bakerella just announced that she is bringing out a book. I'm sure it is going to be filled with amazing cake-pop ideas. I for one want to get my hands on a copy as soon as it comes out!

  1. They are wonderful...they'd be great for kids parties??? A def winner...
Book sounds good..just need the equipment and ingredients...

  2. I agree with Jude. I had this in mind when I was reading your post. Your kids look so cute.

  3. Liz these look fantastic!! They are so cute! When my nieces visit me in Holland in a couple of months I'll definitely make these for them.
Putting them on a stick... what a great idea!
P.S. Να χαίρεσαι τα παιδάκια σου! Είναι τόσο χαριτωμένα :)

  4. Can you help me find a traditional cupcake recipe...? I've eaten cupcakes only in london different flavored ones, those that have the same flavor both in their cake and icing! (e.x. cookies (made with oreos), or coconut). That's what i'd love to know how to make!

p.s. i can find the right cupcakes in no place in Athens pf...

  5. Mary,

If you go back through my archives to October 27th, I have posted a very simple recipe which you can alter to get the flavours you like. You could add crushed Oreos to the cake batter and the frosting, for example, or coconut. I love your little creations on your blog! Are you still doing them? They're so cute!

Before long you'll be able to come to Nafplio for a cupcake!
